Hope to Haiti

This is an enormous disaster for one of the poorest countries in the western hemisphere.  Together we can make a difference and restore hope in Haiti.  This is no doubt, a colossal humanitarian crisis that speaks to the world as one family.

Your help is needed now to aid Haitian families and let them know they are not alone in this emergency.  Every donation you are able to give will make a difference.  It is essential that we act quickly and generously in order to be most effective and helpful to our brothers and sisters in Haiti.

Here at Desert Stream we have had the privilege in helping with missions around the globe and with the recent tragic crisis in Haiti two causes have presented themselves for us to help once again.

The first one is a mission that has been going on in Haiti since 1996. Benite Jeune has dedicated his life to helping the people of Haiti.  Benite started Changing Lives Ministry and with this ministry was able to build and support a school in which educates and feeds twice daily 600 students.  This school and more, we are sad to report has perished in the earthquake. Our second opportunity to help is in our unique ability to utilize our “Flights of Hope” program that is jointly operated with Desert Stream Christian Fellowship and New Mercy Ministries.   Rick Langstaff and Dave Ward have been busy preparing a twin propeller Piper Aztec plane for just such an emergency.  For more information on what they are planning please read this article posted at the Belleville Intellegencer. For this project to be effective we must be efficient in our planning and organization. Scheduling, finances and arrangements are time sensitive in making this a useful tool to help facilitate aid in this crisis.
